Let’s Build Our Community and Our Local Food System:
Shelley Rogers, Director/Producer of the acclaimed documentary, “What’s Organic About
Organic?” is delighted to host a screening with special guest Erin Barnes. Erin founded ioby,
(pronounced eye-OH-be), a name that stands for In Our Backyards (ioby.org).

The film stirs passion about the need for a clean, transparent, and organic food system. The
next step is action! ioby will be on hand to offer a variety of opportunities to dig deep in NYC
urban agriculture. Participants will be able to sign up for springtime garden projects right at
the screening.

What’s Organic About Organic? illustrates that the organic food debate extends well beyond
personal choice and into the realm of social responsibility. The film compels us to look
forward, towards a new vision for our culture and encourages us to ask, “How can we eat with
an ecological consciousness?”

ioby works hand in hand with New Yorkers to support hundreds of organizations that have
their own ideas and solutions. ioby provides tools and resources that complement the
creativity and generosity of civil society to achieve a cleaner, healthier environment and more
just communities.

In the effort to galvanize community, we couldn’t ask for a better venue: Greenpoint
CoWorking (GPCW). Started in January 2011 by Sara Bacon, GPCW provides communal
workspace for independent workers. Its goal is to build and nourish community in a
beautiful and professional environment while fostering individual work.
